Planning: Audio

Planning:Audio

In this post I am going to plan the sort of music I want to use on my website. Originally, I was thinking about putting a music player in the background on my website. However, it could be tedious and annoying the audience. This will be changed as I would want to avoid disappointed audience that surf my website.

As it is a multimedia module, I would like to use music somehow. One of my sub-menus will have make-up featuring on it, this way I can record tutorial videos or a campaign about make-up and use any desired song/instrumental music. My target audience are young teenagers to young adults. I must choose the kind of songs carefully, avoid abusive words as it will be unsuitable for young adults that are under 18 years old. I can't go wrong with instrumental music (no vocals) as I wouldn't have to worry about abusive words that are being used. As I want my website to become mainstream, I'll be luring in the audience by featuring mainstream, popular songs and artists on my tutorials.

Another way of using music would be on a slider that I'll be looking to download as a Plugin on WordPress. For example, adding images on the slider with some music would keep the audience entertained and they'll become more interested in the products or tips/advice I am giving out to the public.

Finally, other sounds such as dialogue or sound effects could work also. For example, by recording a video of me straightening my hair and something goes wrong, I could always put some sound effects such as 'something went wrong' sound effect. This will become comedic for the audience, entertaining and something that could be found as something unique.

Here are some videos that have inspired me to use on my website:

This is a song released by Lana Del Rey in her 'Born To Die' album. This is the remixed version that has been aired on music television. I have picked the 'karaoke' or 'instrumental' version, as it sounds better without the vocals. This could be used in one of the categories 'Products and Reviews' as I record things such as products, walking in the stores and exploring products. The reason why this would be a good song to pick for the video is because I had an idea to make the video fast motion as I walk in the streets. This instrumental compliments that fast motion speed, the instrumental is quite fast and loud which compliments the speed of the video.

This song has this 'Indian' music/instrumental to this popular song released by Selena Gomez called 'Come & Get It'. This time I want to have many selections of audio to use on my website. This could be used in a makeup tutorial that could be inspired by this single. For example, use this song that has an 'Indian' inspired makeup. Or used in a bright makeup tutorial.

Hair will be featured on my website. One of the main focuses on hair is how to look after hair. This kind of music is Arabian music with a little twist to it. It has been mixed with house music. Using this type instrumental it can relate to many people around the world. This has different cultures to it, an Arabian culture and clubbing culture in the Western world. This has inspired me to use it in one of my hair tutorials (using Argan Oil). The reason why this fits in with the video is because Argan oil are produced from the Argan tree in Morocco. This fits in with the Moroccan themed video.
